Select Committee on Land Issues
On 13 October 2009 Parliament passed a motion to establish a Select Committee on Land Issues. The Select Committee has been given wide terms of reference to inquire into and report to Parliament on a broad range of issues relating to land.
Terms of Reference
The Committee is required to report to Parliament by 30 June 2010.
The purpose of the Committee is to gather information, background material
and public opinion on certain land issues as the first step in a broad
review of land issues and land laws.
The Select Committee on Land Issues held its first meeting this
Friday, 16 October. The Committee will later be seeking the views of the
community on land issues, and will in due course provide details on how
people can give evidence before the Committee or make submissions to the
Committee.
