Work of the Committee

The House Committee is chaired by the Speaker of Parliament. The role of the Committee is to advise the Speaker on the administration of Parliament and the Parliamentary precincts, and on the services provided by Parliament. The Committee usually meets at least three or four times per year. The most recent meeting of the House Committee was 24th September 2009. The House Committee is responsible for approving the budget estimates of Parliament before they are included in the Appropriation Bill and presented to Parliament.
